Workplace Emergency Medical Response & Emergency Preparedness Training Program
The Workplace Emergency Medical Response & Emergency Preparedness training program is a coordinated training program designed to build verified, sustainable emergency-response and preparedness capability within the workplace. Identify the gaps. Plug the gaps. Protect the people.
Description
The Workplace Emergency Medical Response & Emergency Preparedness training program is a coordinated training program designed to build verified, sustainable emergency-response and preparedness capability within the workplace.
The program combines core…
- life-safety certification
- workplace-specific team qualification
- organizational preparedness planning
- and behavior-based violence-prevention training into one integrated system.
The WEMRT program is built on a low-disruption, blended-learning model:
- knowledge-based instruction is delivered through approved online or digital modules
- limited in-person time is reserved for hands-on skills practice, coaching, team coordination, scenario performance, and competency verification.
Training is staggered across departments and shifts and scheduled during low-impact operational windows whenever practical, protecting workplace coverage while still meeting the physical practice requirements each skill demands.
The result is not a collection of individually certified employees, but a practiced, coordinated, and sustainable workplace emergency-response capability — reinforced year-round through a structured readiness cycle of refreshers, drills, and an annual integrated exercise.
Program Components
- WEMRT: Individual FA/CPR/AED certification combined with workplace team operational qualification, enabling small teams to function effectively in the critical minutes before professional responders arrive.
- Workplace Emergency Preparedness Planning Teams: Guided assessment and scenario-based planning to identify operational gaps, assign clear authority, and build protective actions for evacuation, sheltering, lockdown, continuity, reentry, and recovery — with special attention to those most often overlooked.
- Workplace Violence Prevention & Protective Readiness™: Behavior-based, site-specific training addressing concerning-behavior recognition, conflict prevention, safe disengagement, and coordinated response across the full spectrum of workplace violence risk, not just active-assailant scenarios.
- Value-Added Modules: Optional modules extending core readiness to pediatric emergencies, urban commuter disruption, and household pet disaster planning — addressing the full range of foreseeable needs across the workforce.
